Affidavit submitted before Misra Commission

             I, Tulsi Ram, aged 29 years, s/o Bhagwati Din r/o Guru Nanak Public School, West Avenue, Punjabi Bagh solemnly declare as under:-

1.                  I am working as a Chaprasi in the Guru Nanak Public School.

2.                  On 1.11.84, I heard a loud noise and closed the gate of the school carefully.

3.                  After some time I saw that an Ambassador Car of the Police came over there. Thereafter, a person came on a Bullet Motor Cycle. Afterwards, another Ambassador car reached there. In that some persons wearing white clothes and sporting some badges were sitting. In the meantime a small red coloured truck came and stopped there. A large number of persons alighted from that vehicle. They were carrying iron rods, dandas, lathis and kerosene oil. They broke open the gate of our school, forced their entry into it and started setting the school on fire. Thereafter, they burnt the school buses. Then the mob went away. They had destroyed our Staff room, Principal’s room and Management’s Club Room etc.

4.                  This entire scene was witnessed by me alongwith my companions Latoo Ram, Darshan Singh and Kartar Singh. In our school we had never indulged in any sort of rejoicings by distributing sweets. Rather, we all had felt very sad for the dastardly attack on our leader and we had prayed for her speedy recovery.

5.                  Police never came to our school for our security. Another mob which came from ring road side merged into the mob which had alighted from the small truck.
