I, abovementioned Kishandev Singh, solemnly affirm as under: - On 1-11-84, at about 9 – 10 AM, disturbances began in Sadh Nagar. Nearly 250 persons began looting and killing. After looting the houses of Sikhs, the mob set them on fire. They were carrying iron rods and kerosene oil. These people came towards my house in the afternoon. They were being led by (i) Balwan Khokar’s brother Dinesh and (ii) Rakesh who is the son of doctor D.D. Sharma and (iii) Naresh and Suresh sons of Prem Parkash Sharma, residents of RZ-705A, Street No.17 and (iv) Vijay and Sham who are residing at the back of my house. Naresh and Suresh asked my sons to open the gate. My son did not have the key. They broke open the lock with a chisel and opened the gate. First, of all, Naresh and Suresh hit my son with iron rods and pushed him into the street. Naresh and Suresh sprinkled petrol on him and Vijay set him on fire. Sham threw a white powder on him, which invigorated the fire. My son died in the street in great torture. Seeing him writhing in torture, these people were laughing and dancing. I and my family members were watching all this happening in the street but were helpless. After that they inflicted head injuries on me with iron rods and also broke my arms. They also injured my younger son, Kuldip Singh. They also beat my mother, Gurbachan Kaur and broke her arm. They struck my feet with iron rods. They looted jewellery weighing 15 tolas and all the clothes. I incurred a loss of about Rs.50,000/-. |
