I, Jaswinder Singh S/o S. Surjit Singh, aged 35 yrs. R/o RZ-20/18 A, Palam Colony, Raj Nagar, New Delhi-45, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:-

1.                  After Mrs. Indira Gandhi was killed, we were watching TV program on 1^st Nov.84.  We saw and heard that slogans, “Khoon Ka Badla Khoon” was being shouted.

2.                  Then we came to know that Gurdwara Sahib had been set on fire.  When I went to our gate, I saw Congress leader – namely Balwan Khokhar and police personnel 5 nos.- were walking and were pointing out the Sikh houses.  The crowd was about 500 – 700 strong.  They carried oil cans, lathis, iron rods.  They were looting the Sikh houses and setting those a ablaze.  All these persons were saying, “Finish the Sikhs today.  Even their seed should not escape.”

3.                  When our house was set on fire, I climbed on to the roof and pleaded with the police personnel to save us.  They replied, “We will see.”

4.                  After this we hid ourselves in our neighbour’s house.  The crowd re-set the house on fire on 2^nd & 3^rd November 1984 also – because it was not completely gutted.

5.                  On 3^rd November, 1984, I and my children, Narinder Kaur age 15 yrs. son Jatinder, age 10 yrs. – etc. were evacuated by the military.  Our lives were saved by Pandit Ram Parkash and Jograj.

6.                  Police did not – even once – tried to save us.
