True English Translation of the Original

            I, Bakshi K.S. Sahni, aged about 32 years, son of Bakshi H.S. Sahni, r/o 120, Hari Nagar, Ashram, New Delhi-14, but presently residing at 144/E/1, Jagan Nath Market, Hari Nagar, Ashram, New Delhi-65, do hereby on solemn affirmation state and declare as under: -

1.                  That on 31-10-84, I alongwith my brother J.S. Sahni were going to our plot at about 10 PM, when on the way Kali Ram, P.D. Sharma Advocate, Ved Prakash Yadav, Vedi, Dharam Paul Nai, Bablu s/o Kalu Ram, Anil Sharma, Kanwar Lal Jain, wife of Dhobi all residents of Hari Nagar, Ashram, met us, Kali Ram caught hold me on my coller and all of them started abusing us. They were saying that Congress (I) workers will set right the Sardars soon. Somehow, we managed to escape from them.

2.                  That on 1-11-84, at about 8.30 AM, I alongwith my brother and father came home. After some time I went out of my house and found the above persons alongwith others namely Karam Singh Saini and his sons, Pandit Lal Chand Sharma, Kanwar Lal Jain, Om Prakash Saini, Bishan Singh Saini (Burfwala), Dhani Ram, Kabli, Nanak Chowdhary, Varinder Singh Chowhan, Pandu Gosain all residents of Hari Nagar, on the main road duly armed with iron rods, lathis etc. Immediately at that time, one Sikh young men was seen coming on his motorcycle. They intercepted him on the road and started beating him with iron rods and lathis etc. When he fell down, they put kerosene oil on him and he was set ablaze. He died on the spot. At that time the above named persons were raising slogans, “Khoon Ka Badla Khoon Se Lenge, Pakro Sikhon Ko Maar Do” I ran back to my home for safety. Then I and other members of my family and other Sikh families got up on our roofs. The main road is about 50 to 60 yards from my house. One bus of M.S.Marwah Transport was stopped by these persons and set on fire. Then this mob attacked the nearby petrol pump of Gurdit Singh Bhasin and sons, Mathura Road, Delhi and the same was stoned and then the charge of the petrol was taken by the mob. At that time the SHO P.S. Sri Niwaspuri, O.P. Yadav and Ved Prakash SI, SI Ishwar Singh with about 6 / 7 constables were present at the spot, but they did not take any action against them shutter was broken, looted the cloth in the shop and cash lying there and then the same was set on fire. Then my house was also looted by them and set on fire. Wife of master Dharam Paul my neighbour saved me by hiding me behind a steel almirah in their house. My father was saved by master Swaraj. My brother J.S.  Sahni was taken out by them from his hide out in the house of Mange Ram Chohan. He was severely beaten alongwith Chohan family who are Hindus for keeping my brother in their house. But my brother escaped being killed.

3.                  That when my injured brother came home then he again apprehended by the above named miscreants and a brick wall was demolished and he was buried under debris. He was taken out by the Military at 11.00 in the night and was sent to AIIMS. Then I escaped in the night from my hide out in Hari Nagar Ashram and other members of Sikh community in the area.

4.                  That subsequently I found that my house at Plot No.144/E, Jagan Nath Market, Delhi was also looted and burnt.

5.                  That we suffered total loss of at least 8 to 9 lakh of rupees. My buffaloes were also stolen by the miscreants.

6.                  I reported this whole story of Police Station at Sri Niwaspuri, but they refused to record the names of the culprits.

Action may be taken against culprits.
