I, Gurmeet Kaur Wd/o S. Rattan Singh aged about 29 yrs., R/o Block B, 8-C, Tilak Vihar, Tilak Nagar, Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare on oath as under: -

1.                  That at the time of occurrence. I was residing alongwith my deceased husband and children at Q-6/119, Mangolpuri, Delhi for the last 10 years.

2.                  That on November 1, 1984, a strong mob of about 1000 persons armed with lathis, iron rods, spears etc. came in our gali No.6. The following persons whom I know personally were leading the mob: -

1)     Shambu Tea Stall owner, r/o Mangolpuri, Q-Block.

2)     Govardhan, r/o Q-Block, Mangolpuri.

3)     Kalia, r/o Q-Block, Mangolpuri.

4)     Shanti Swarup, r/o Q-Block, Mangolpuri. (Now shifted to Nand Nagri).

5)     Sewa Ram who runs an oil depot in Q-Block, Mangolpuri. (He supplied kerosene oil to burn houses and people).

6)     Shanker, r/o Q-7, Mangolpuri, Delhi.

I know these persons because they reside locally.

3.                  That the mob led by the abovesaid persons attacked my house. First they stoned it heavily. Then they broke open the lock of our door (which had locked from outside). My children and husband were inside the house. I was standing outside my house and helplessly watching all the illegal acts of the aforesaid persons. These persons set fire to our scooter No. DHN 339 (two-wheeler) and started looting my household effects. Then they dragged my husband Rattan Singh out of the house and mercilessly beat him to death. Then they threw his body over the burning scooter. By this time it was about 5 P.M..

4.                  That at about 6-7 P.M., a police jeep came and took away the body of my husband. I pleaded with them to spare the body so that I may perform the last rites but the police people did not listen to me I lodged complaint photocopy of which is annexed herewith.
