Affidavit of Agya Kaur W/o S. Harbans Singh, aged 25 years, resident of L-92, Mangolpuri, now residing at C-71, Tilak Vihar, New Delhi. I, the aforesaid deponent do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under: - 1. That on October 31, 1984, we came to know that somebody had shot dead our Prime Minister. Our family felt aggrieved as during elections we always voted for her party. 2. That on November 1, 1984, at about 11 PM, four Sikhs namely Amreek Singh, Inderjeet Singh, Harjeet Singh and Charan Singh had hid themselves in a room in front of our house. One Mohinder Singh who resides in L-94, saw them hiding there. He told the mob that some Sikhs were hiding there. The mob shouted to kill them. Some persons out of the mob broke the tin sheet roof of the room where these four persons were hiding. They went inside the room and after beating Charan Singh mercilessly, threw him in the fire. Harjeet Singh was killed by iron rods in front of the room. Two Sikhs ran away. On the instigation of Mahinder Singh, Radhye Shyam and Raju that no Sikh will be spared, they dragged my husband out of the house and killed him. 3. My children had hid themselves in a neighbour’s room and were thus saved. 4. That the aforesaid Mahinder Singh, Radhye Shyam, Raju and others came in my room several times to ascertain whether any Sikh was hiding there. 5. That the mob which was led by Radhey Shyam etc. aforesaid was about 500 strong and they were carrying iron rods, lathis of equal length, kerosene oil tins came to our locality, killed the Sikhs and burnt and looted their houses. 6. That out of fear I did not go out of the house and myself and my neighbour Agya Kaur W/o Amir Singh had seen whole incident with our eyes. Amir Singh, husband of Agya Kaur who had hid himself in a room and had tried to run away to save himself was killed and burnt in the chowk. I also saw his burnt corpse. 7. That till I remained at my house no policemen came for our help and I left my place on 4-11-84. Out of fear I did not go to the police station to lodge the report. 8. That all this incident had been managed by Mahinder Singh, Radhey Shyam and Raju who support Congress (I) in elections. |
